Offset Registration is a simulated fragment from the the DEMO Project house. It is both a nod to the system of numbering as a device that locates buildings in space and time. But also a reflection on the challenge of mapping a texture to a surface or mapping a number onto an object. Hence the reference to offsetting, a displacement technique used in the production of surface and image.

Offset Registration is a fragment from the frint of the DEMO Project house that includes the house number. Originally it was to be titled Register - as a nod to the number of the house as a device that locates it in space and time. But I also wanted to think about the challenge of mapping a texture to a surface or mapping a number onto an object. Hence the reference to offsetting. It is a sculptural surface produced from a 3D scan of the DEMO Project house. It is 3D printed in sections that are friction welded together. The color and texture is from digitally printed rice paper adhered to the surface of the plastic.
