Art Professional Experience
Bridge Art Fair, Director of Operations
Chicago, Ill., 2005 – 2009
• Oversaw growth from per show budget of $40,000 in 2005 to $500,000+ in 2009.
• Involved in the evolution Bridge brand since inception, responsible for providing input and direction in development and conceptual underpinning of art fair identity, strategy and tactical decisions.
• Experienced in producing ticketed public events in alternative venues / hotels / temporary structures.
• Responsible for client management via design, production, distribution of exhibitor kit. Follow up included tracking order, procurement of services and order fulfillment on site for typically 60 + galleries per show producing $20,000 on average per show in add on sales via exhibitor kit.
• Project Management, responsible for: scouting venues, assessing profitability of venue, budget development, time and resource estimates, procurement and service providers, floor plan design, event permitting and licenses, security and traffic planning, work breakdown structure, planning events and receptions, risk management and contingency planning, execution of project, onsite staff and contractor management, client liaison and troubleshooting, manage front of house and ticketing areas, takedown and wrap up.
• Responsible for hiring, training and management of 2 –5 full time employees in office and 5 – 15 temporary event staff per show.
Garden Fresh Gallery, Co-Director

Co-direct artist run exhibition space. Responsibilities include long term planning and developing exhibition program in concert with 6 other stakeholders. On average produce 6 – 8 exhibitions per year and attend 1-2 art fairs nationally or internationally. Shared gallery duties include sales of art work, installation of exhibits, art fair planning and shipping, web site, client management and fulfillment.

Bridge Magazine, Managing Editor

• Oversaw growth of art and culture publication from 3 issues a year in 2003 to bi-monthly magazine in 2006 grossing $150K annually.
• Worked with Editor in Chief to coordinate magazine production duties included layout using Quark Xpress, proof reading. graphics and photo image management. directing production staff, contributors and interns.
• Responsible for distribution of each issue including delivery to local vendors, coordinating shipping to bookstores, magazine distribution partners, and bulk NFP mailing to subscribers. Also responsible for all online order fulfillment of magazines and merchandise. Managed subscriber database with FileMaker Pro.
• Responsible for production of major annual fundraising events grossing on average $25,000. Also planned and executed ongoing fundraising / sales initiatives including Shoebox Art Collection 2003 & 2004, quarterly subscription drives, silent art auctions.
• Assisted in the planning and execution of magazine release parties and fundraising projects including events at the Empty Bottle, The Vic Theater, Anita Dee Yacht on Lake Michigan, Kavi Gupta Gallery, Schopf Gallery, Bridge Magazine Event Space, TBA Exhibition Space. 1/ Quarterly.
